(Frequently Asked Questions)
First Visit to the
Dentist
At What
Age Should I Bring My Child to the Pediatric Dentist?

Your child is susceptible to
dental decay as soon as his/her first baby teeth appear in your
child's mouth
around the age of six months.
Pediatric Dentists and Pediatricians
recommend that your child have his/her first dental "healthy baby checkup" by 1 year
of age.
You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive.
Your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist
and his/her staff will take pictures of your child's teeth, clean
them, and then count his/her teeth. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child
that may cause unnecessary fear or anxiety, such as needle, shot, drill, or
hurt.
By bringing your child to our office at a young age, he/she will become
comfortable visiting our pediatric dental office. With our open bay
examination and operatory areas, your child will be able to role
model from other children and his/her peers. You will be teaching your
child good dental habits at an early age.
