Current Dental Trends and Fads - Grills

A popular trend nowadays is the dental "grill", which is oral jewelry that is custom fabricated to fit over the top of the upper or lower front teeth. These grills can be made to be permanently glued onto the teeth or be removable.

Many times in order to have the grill fit in the mouth, healthy tooth structure needs to be shaved away. This removal of healthy tooth structure for the placement of decorative mouth jewelry is absolutely harmful to your child's teeth!

So follow the advice of the American Dental Association:

Skip the mouth jewelry!
