Reading Materials We Recommend Prior to Your Child's First Visit to Our Office

These are some wonderful books that can help you prepare your child for his/her first dental visit. New experiences can be intimidating. If your child knows a little bit about what to expect, you can help him/her to have a more pleasant experience at the dentist's office.

Reading dental books

  • Going to the Dentist, by Anne Civardi
  • Show Me Your Smile! A Visit to the Dentist (Dora the Explorer), by Christine Ricci
  • The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist, by Stan and Jan Berenstain
  • Brush Your Teeth Please (pop-up), by Leslie McGuire
  • Have You Ever Seen a Moose Brushing His Teeth?, by Jamie McClaine
  • Harold's Hideaway Thumb, by Harriet Sonnenschein
  • Helping the Thumb Sucking Child, by Rosemary Van Norman

Here is another wonderful new book written by a pediatric dentist for parents. It's called "How To Successfully Prepare For Your Child's First Dental Visit". It's a wonderful book that can answer many of your questions and also includes a journal section for jotting down any questions you may have. You can find it on www.Amazon.com or www.firstdentalvisit.com.
