Dr. Emily Wang
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Wang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry with degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Dr. Wang completed her Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Southern California and the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She was honored with the University of Southern California's Hugh Kopel Award as Resident of the Year and was elected to the dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Dr. Wang has been with our office since August 2004. She spent a few years giving back to her alma mater and teaching at the University of California, San Francisco before parenthood. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, arts & crafts, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Dr. Wang also speaks Mandarin and some Spanish.
Dr. Melanie Perea-Corkish
Dr. Perea-Corkish is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry who obtained her dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. She completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Dentistry and the University of Illinois Medical Center. Dr. Perea-Corkish earned a Master's of Science Degree in Oral Sciences during her Pediatric Dental Residency. Dr. Perea-Corkish has been with our office since July 2005. She is married to a Physical Therapist and they have two daughters. Dr. Perea-Corkish loves to sing and is learning the art of Hawaiian Dance (Hula). She also does weight training and Pilates.
Dr. Ignatius Nate Gerodias
Dr. Nate is a
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. After earning his dental
degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, he completed his pediatric dental training at Northwestern
University and the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Nate has been with our office since 2006. He is also a faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Twice a year, Dr. Gerodias
leads dental missions in Guatemala and the Philippines. Dr. Nate’s main
interests lie in behavior modification of the pediatric patient, caries
management, and global health.
Dr. Nate also speaks Tagalog.
Dr. Lynne Hsia
Dr. Hsia is a Board Eligible Pediatric Dentist who grew up in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine where she received her degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Hsia went to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and completed her pediatric dentistry residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. Dr. Hsia has been with our office since 2000. Dr. Lynne Hsia (pronounced "Shaw"), her husband, and their dog Belle enjoy outdoor activities which include hiking, snow skiing, biking, and a lot of golf. Her husband is also a dentist with an office in Napa, CA.
Dr. Hsia also speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese.
Dr. Joanne Rahman
Dr. Rahman is a Board Eligible Pediatric Dentist who grew up in San Francisco, California. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Biological Sciences and received her DDS degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. After receiving her dental degree, Doctor Rahman completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Doctor Rahman has been with our office since 2007. When she is not practicing, Dr. Rahman enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and traveling.
Dr. Rahman also speaks Cantonese.
Dr. Quinn Su
Dr. Su is a general dentist who really enjoys working with children and has been primarily treating children and young adults for more than fifteen years in our office. Dr. Su graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1994 and has been with our office since February 1996. Dr. Su splits her time now between our office and her own newly opened adult general dentistry office in San Francisco. Her openness, kindness, and integrity have earned her a large following of patients in our office. Dr. Su, her husband, and their son enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, water rafting, and snow skiing. They also love to take ocean cruises and to spend time on the beach.
Dr. Su also speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Chiu-Chow, and Vietnamese.
Dr. Lydia Wong
Dr. Wong is a general dentist who graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and the University of California, Los Angles School of Dentistry where she obtained her dental license in 1991. Dr. Wong has been with our office since April 1997 caring for our children and young adult's needs. She specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry and bleaching teeth for our adolescent patients. She does all the teeth whitening for all our patients and staff ... look at Papa Doc's smile! Dr. Wong opened her own adult general dentistry office in downtown San Francisco several years ago. Spanish is her native language as she was born and raised in Mexico. Dr. Wong is married and has one daughter. Her family loves traveling to different places every summer. For the past few years, she and her family have especially enjoyed the desert and it's hidden treasures. They started with the Grand Canyon and now are expanding to north Utah. This traveling fulfills Dr. Wong's other love, photography. Her digital photography skills are a big part of her daily life both here in our office and at home.
Dr. Wong also speaks Spanish and Cantonese.
Dr. Fred Haeberlein
Dr. Haeberlein is a Pediatric Dentist who graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental School and the Residency Program at Children's Hospital-Oakland. He has been in practice since 1976. He is affectionately known as "Papa Doc" by both our staff and many patients. He spent two years in the Air Force Medical Corps before moving to California to start his Residency. For the first ten years, his dental practice was located in the Monteagle Medical Center of St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco. He and his entire staff then moved to our current location in 1988. Dr. Haeberlein is an avid traveler and has had the opportunity to travel to many distant parts of the world. He especially loves to go to southeast Asia and China. Dr. Haeberlein likes to snorkel, walk the beaches of Hawaii or elsewhere, and just sit and read in the shade. Dr. Haeberlein likes to listen to music ranging from classical opera, to country, to Madonna (Dr. Haeberlein was briefly in one of Madonna's early videos, by accident of course). Dr. Haeberlein has long been involved in charity fund raising in the community. "A Gift of Love" benefiting Children's Garden of Marin County was held in our office for five years around Valentine's Day. Dr. Haeberlein has been proud to have been part of the San Francisco Pediatric Dental Community for the past 35+ years, helping serve the community's oral health care needs.
Dr. Haeberlein is the managing partner of the Discovery Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Haeberlein has reduced his patient schedule and currently does not see patients. Dr. Haeberlein is very proud to have Doctors Wang, Perea-Corkish, and Gerodias as his partners to continue the superb dental care provided by Discovery Pediatric Dentistry.
